STARS Foundation welcomes applicants for the 2012 STARS Impact Awards

July 2011

Starting from September 9th, 2011, STARS Foundation will welcome applications for their STARS Impact Awards from local organisations working with children in Africa, the Middle East, Asia or Pacific.

Launched by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah in 2007 the STARS Impact Awards reflect the foundations belief that local organisations are best placed to respond to the needs of their communities and the children in their care. The Impact Awards identify, recognise and reward local NGOs achieving excellence in the provision of health, education and protection services to children and encourage NGOs to evaluate and invest in their organisational strength. Each year, six applicants receive a distinctive package of support helping them to become more effective and resilient.

Each Impact Award combines:

  • $100,000 in unrestricted funding: A true 'social-investment' of financial capital enabling recipient organisations to respond more effectively to local needs and set their own agendas.
  • Tailored consultancy support: Including access to training and organisational strengthening, enabling recipients to maximise the benefits of the Award.
  • Media training and communications: Providing recipients with the training, tools and opportunities to increase their profile.
